On Friday, September 14, 2012, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., LSU will celebrate Fall Fest 2012 in the Quadrangle and Exxon Quad. One of LSU’s most anticipated traditions and the chancellor’s official “Welcome Back” to the University, Fall Fest welcomes more than 30,000 new and returning students, faculty, and staff back to campus for the fall semester!
The annual event, which serves as the chancellor’s official welcome back celebration and raised $7,000 for the LSU general scholarship fund through its sponsors, begins with the entrance of The Golden Band from Tigerland, LSU Golden Girls and LSU Cheerleaders and a welcome from interim LSU Chancellor William Jenkins, LSU Executive Vice Chancellor & Provost Stuart Bell, LSU Vice Chancellor for Student Life & Enrollment Services Kurt Keppler, Student Government President Taylor Cox and Miss LSU Elizabeth Connor on the stage between Prescott and Stubbs Halls.
Following performances by the band, LSU spirit squads and the Tiger Girls, the National Pan-Hellenic Council will host the Love Purple, Live Gold Yard Show with performances by several LSU fraternities and sororities and the Legacy Dancers.
More than 50 tables representing both campus units and area businesses will be set up in the LSU Quad and Exxon Quad with information and giveaways, while several activities will also be available, including University Recreation’s climbing wall in the Exxon Quad.
Those in attendance will be served their choice of free hamburgers, sausage po-boys, vegetarian burgers, and chips at the Food Court located in the LSU Quad. In addition to these freebies, LSU Dining will be giving out popsicles, and the LSU AgCenter Dairy Store is providing FREE ice cream!
We hope to see your student in the Quad on September 14!
